Elgin Grabouw Tourism is excited to announce that the much-loved Elgin Cool Wine and Country Food Festival will be back and even better than before on 27 & 28 April 2019.This year, Destinate is proud to be partnering with Elgin Grabouw Tourism by taking on the logistical arrangements for the festival. 

Located less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town, the Elgin Valley offers city-dwellers and visitors to the Mother City, the perfect countryside escape.

For wine lovers and those in need of a revitalising day or two out, the festival offers a chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city to indulge in the best cool climate wines, decadently delightful food, entertainment, a plethora of outdoor activities and the natural beauty that the valley has to offer.

As has become a tradition over the years, each of the participating wineries are going all out to offer a unique programme. This allows you to tailor-make your experience according to your personal preferences. 

Entertainment includes performances by live bands, art exhibitions, nature walks, vertical tastings and cellar tours. Each venue will offer different dishes, along with their signature wines, to tantalise the taste buds and keep those bellies filled over lunch time. These include a la carte menus, farm style picnics, food trucks and much more. 

Not sure what to do with the kids and pets for the weekend while you head to the festival? The good news is you can bring the kids along. Each wine farm will be offering loads of child-friendly activities to keep your tots and tweens safe and entertained. Children under the age of 18, and accompanied by an adult, enter for free. Most of the farms are also dog-friendly!

Tickets are available for purchase on Quicket – weekend passes are only R200 per person, while day passes are R150 per person.

Armbands, festival maps and your special edition 2019 #ElginCoolFest glass can be collected from the Elgin Railway Market upon arrival at the festival. The art deco-inspired market will also form the central point of the festival with classy crafts to browse, food to indulge in and, of course, wines to taste and buy.
