The best of the Winelands is coming to Joburg this summer with the launch of the Joburg Wine Club.

 

The Joburg Wine Club is a new style wine club representing some of South Africa’s premium wine brands. It is positioning itself as South Africa’s coolest wine club, on a mission to change perceptions about wine and giving its members exactly what they want in a format that appeals to them.

Says Mariette du Toit-Helmbold, author of South Africa’s first national wine tourism strategy and founder of the Joburg Wine Club: “South Africa produces some of the world’s best wine. Our local market is often overlooked as our most important consumers and we want to change that. The Joburg Wine Club is for people who understand the importance of brand and want a premium product and experience. It epitomises everything that is cool about Joburg.”

Members of the Joburg Wine Club will enjoy access to exclusive events, wine promotions, tailor-made travel deals to the winelands and South Africa’s best wine delivered to their door.

 

A number of events will be hosted in association with destination partners like Joburg Tourism and Gauteng Tourism in Joburg’s most happening neighbourhoods in the course of the year, each one distinctively different.

“We love the idea of a wine club for and about Joburg and look forward to showcasing the vibrancy of the City of Gold with the Joburg Wine Club,” says Rendani Khorombi, acting director of Joburg Tourism.

The launch event on Monday, 27 November, in Braamfontein will set the scene for what’s to come, giving high profile guests and club members a taste of South Africa’s top wine brands, paired with delicious food prepared by local restaurants and beats by local DJs.

 

Members of the Joburg Wine Club will receive a monthly mixed case of wine delivered by Wine Cellar, the club’s distribution partner.
