Wine and nougat pairing at Avontuur, Helderberg

This summer, Avontuur will be bringing back their hugely popular wine and nougat pairing. The sweet experience is self-guided, but an experienced tasting room assistant will be close at hand for any questions or comments. Book it for a morning outing with the girls, a romantic date or a group affair. Cost: R80 per person.Tasting room hours: 8:30am to 5pm daily. Booking is recommended.
 

MCC and Oyster Pairing at Boschendal, Franschhoek

Treat yourself to a truly delectable experience at Groot Constantia, as the knowledgeable tasting room staff guide you through a pairing of 5 selected wines and 5 hand-crafted chocolates. Feel like having a bit of fun while testing your wine knowledge? Lourensford recently started offering a blind tasting challenge, where guests will be served four wines. If they can identify them all correctly, they get the tasting FREE. However, if you’re unsuccessful, you pay the normal tasting rate. Cost: R45 per person. Tasting room hours: 9am to 5pm from Monday to Sunday (tasting closes at 4:30pm, but wine tasting stays available till 5pm.
 

Flavour sensation, Plaisir de Merle, Franschhoek

The flavour sensation tasting at Plaisir de Merle is seasonal and you can look forward to wines paired with the likes of dried figs and pears, fruit cake, blue berries, or biltong.
